Thorn offers 3 oscillators that utilize spectral synthesis method. This gives you control over all harmonics involved into the generation process of your sound. The oscillator provides sets of spectral and real-time effects to shape harmonics further. Of course FM, RM, PWM, Hard Sync implemented too.

Sound sources organized as spectrum tables of 16 frames with ability to edit and morph harmonics. The spectral synthesis gives ability to 'post-process' all the generated harmonics with a special filter to colorize the output.

Two multi-mode, analog modeled filters with sensitive saturation stages available to charge your sounds and make it shine through the mix. There are 9 high quality effects, 3x ADSR envelopes, 3x LFOs, 2x multistage envelopes at your service in Thorn. 16-step flexible arpeggiator with MIDI output to generate rhythmic sequences available as well.

Aftermath is another soundset by Empty Vessel, which contains 32 dystopian sounds, keys and pads, from cold digital to warm and lush, evolving and very complex, fully exploring Thorn's ample range in a concentrated set of highly detailed and inspiring patches.

Cosmic Plucks is another different dimension of NatLife‘s vision for the pluck sound design. 42 completely different Plucks and Leads in one collection of sounds. From powerful guitar riffs to soft and relaxing sounds, as if it was brought from uninhabited islands, from overflowing ‘basses in plucks’ to harmoniously trimmed Trance leads. Marula Music Euphorbia is a collection of 100 presets hand crafted by Nate Raubenheimer of Protoculture and Shadow Chronicles fame for DS Thorn from Plugin Alliance. The pack covers multiple electronic music genres ranging from ambient and techno to house and trance.

Pathogen is a set of 64 patches by Empty Vessel, based heavily around original samples, used to create the wavetables, harmonic filter shapes and also imported into the Noise Oscillator to be used both as audio layers and to frequency modulate Oscillator 3. Sample sources are very diverse, from a range of field recordings made with my Zoom H5 digital recorder and Sony cassette dictaphone to deep synthesized soundscapes made with Reaktor, Absynth, Alchemy and many more.
